Has anyone ever encountered an honourable politician who prioritises public interests over personal gain? As a society, we have yet to reach the level of awareness that a politician should embody an honourable, optimistic, and optimal vision for the common good. Such an individual should not receive a salary but rather be rewarded based on the results they achieve for the collective, including themselves. A politician should uphold ultimate values, love people, respect animals, acknowledging that we are not the only species on this planet, and cherish nature. They should aspire to build a society of strong, creative, and free individuals.
Regrettably, politics remains one of the most disreputable professions. The worst societal values are often associated with politics. Historically, and even today, there is always someone who oppresses the majority, believing they have the right to do so. There is always someone who claims ownership of natural resources, which belong to all of us. There is always someone who serves interest groups rather than building a better society for each individual.
The arrogance of these individuals, who forget they are meant to serve the public, is astounding. They are entrusted with the responsibility to manage the system in the best possible way, yet this is rarely the case. Unfortunately, this is a global issue that has persisted for years. For instance, in my native Croatia, we have endured a farcical government led by a narcissistic individual whose administration is historically corrupt. As a young, highly educated person, it is disheartening to witness this, and even more so to see young people become indifferent and disillusioned, believing that all politicians will lie, steal, and serve their own interests. Isn’t it devastating? Isn’t it disappointing that corruption, nepotism, and self-serving connections are accepted as normal?
Despite the majority being wrapped up in their own lives, uninterested and unstimulated by the surrounding situation, I believe there are fighters—individuals who understand that taking care of oneself is equivalent to taking care of the collective. We are all interconnected. These fighters may sometimes lose hope, but it is crucial to remember that politicians often lead miserable lives. They have sold their honour, their integrity, and their true selves to reach their positions. They act out of self-interest, not because they are the best, but because they excel in negotiations, nepotism, corruption, and collusion. They are blackmailed, and once blackmailed, they are never truly free or uncompromisingly themselves. Even those with initial good intentions are often manipulated by powerful forces. Politicians are mere puppets of billionaires and hidden elites who dictate agendas under the guise of collective good and progress.
Instead of despairing, be grateful that you are not one of them. Continue to dream of entering politics to effect positive change, to cleanse the system of injustice, evil, and immorality. Everything is possible when we are united, not divided.
Politicians are also hostages of banks. Hidden interests, invisible to the public, often prevail over everything else.
If this were not the case, society would be structured differently. Political decisions would ensure that people do not consume unhealthy food for profit, with strict and merciless controls. Natural resources like water, oil, and air would not be appropriated and sold, as they are God-given rights for all. Honourable politicians would provide free healthcare for everyone and ensure the best doctors are compensated like football players.
Instead of creating diseases, they would foster a healthier society by eliminating the factors that cause illnesses, acting preventively rather than reactively. They would support local merchants and ensure better distribution and use of resources. Ambition would not be sold as a necessity, nor would people be encouraged to work to exhaustion to prove their worth. This is a lie. While you toil in your micro-world, paying taxes and competing to prove your value, the wealthy avoid taxes and are rewarded by banks. You are merely a cog in an unhealthy economy that benefits those who understand the rules of the game.
As a positive person who sincerely believes in a better and fairer world, I have hope. History has taught us much, and it is time to collectively change our consciousness for the better. The message to the powerful is that death is inevitable, and instead of playing God, they should contribute positively to the world. Change is possible if even one influential person supports someone with a pure heart, high intelligence, and a clear vision for helping everyone. The rich can still profit without evil intentions. Perhaps I am a dreamer, but I believe one person can change the world. I believe in a modern-day Robin Hood. No dream is too big to achieve. It is time for a collective shift in consciousness.
In conclusion, politics will one day be an honourable profession. It will serve the people and be part of the collective consciousness, acting for the common good. Politics will be free from corruption, far from the hands of the powerful, conducted by individuals with integrity, character, and no price. But for this to become a reality, we must start with ourselves. We are responsible for ourselves and for each other. We should not compete but encourage one another to be our true selves. Pure hearts, benevolence, and the desire for the common good will ultimately lead to a better society and the politics of our dreams.
Change is always possible, starting today. Let us begin with ourselves, and everything else will follow.
Love x
Petra
